CITY HALL EGRESS STAIRWELL—NIAGARA FALLS

Niagara Falls City Hall is an historic city hall located at Niagara Falls, New York.   It was constructed in 1923-1924, in the Beaux-Arts style. The building embodies Neo-Classical Revival architectural details. It features a centrally arranged rectangular form, with a central projecting pavilion, fluted columns with Ionic capitals, and smooth ashlar sandstone walls with pilasters. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.  Walter S. Johnson Bldg. Co., Inc. performed general contracting services to design and install an egress stairwell in City Hall.  Extreme care was used to demolish adjoining floors and  to duplicate the original stair casing design, doors and millwork components used elsewhere in the building.
